Ingredients
4 bratwurst sausages
1 bottle (12 oz) beer
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
4 brat buns
1/2 cup sautéed onions (optional)
Preparation
Simmer the Brats in Beer – Add beer to a low simmer in a pan.
Add bratwursts and simmer for 15 minutes, turning occasionally.
Make the Beer Cheese Sauce – Melt butter, add flour, and whisk in milk and reserved beer.
Stir in cheeses and seasonings until smooth.
Grill or Sear the Brats – Grill for 2-3 minutes per side.
Assemble & Serve – Top brats with beer cheese sauce and sautéed onions. Enjoy!
